Collaborative consumption Websites , marketplaces, social networks, e-commerce… all these platforms disrupt many economical sectors and are emerging a new organizational model. This book describes how these platforms have become giants of the economy (unicorns) and how they transformed our society. Unveiling their mechanisms and strategies, the author shows how they take advantage of the principles of information economics to achieve their goals and to get abilities to influence individual and collective behaviors. The author shows that in reality they are wholly political organizations that enter a large part of public life, even beyond consumer practices.
Christophe Benavent is Professor of Management at the University Paris-Ouest. He coordinates the Master Marketing and the Management of Public Organizations and policies. He heads the Doctoral School “Economics, organization, society” founded by the University of Paris-Ouest. Author of numerous articles and publications, his area of research aimed to understand how digital technologies reshape strategy and marketing.
